Verveine

VRVN is an electronic music project that began with Joell Nicolas (CH). In search of a transversal sound matter, VRVN flirts with several codes and gleans her singularity with an uncanny pop, an angular rhythm as well as a visceral and adventurous productions. After the DIY releases of «Peaks» (2013, DKLK Records) and «Antony» (2015, Creaked Records), she first attracts interest from the Swiss cultural protagonists (such as Paléo, M4Music, BadBonn Kilbi, Fri-Son, Docks, Festival de la Bâtie) then opens up to European paths (such as Rennes Transmusicales, Printemps de Bourges, Plissken Fest, Iceland Airwaves, Eurosonic Noorderslag, Zemlika Fest). Driven by her classical background but above all by the profusion of electronic cultures, she’s smitten with artists such as Mark Pritchard, Holly Herndon, Ben Frost or Laurel Halo to name just a few.
